Jubilee Pottery as a business may have begun officially on paper in 2017, but it was a dream in my heart and mind decades before the name was ever scratched on a scrap piece of paper. After a single "fill in" ceramic class taken in 1982 at the University of North Texas, that dream began brewing in the heart of this would be hobby potter. A love affair with clay began and a dream began to take form.
Linda B. Eldridge married 30 + years to her high school sweetheart, is a proud Mom of 4 now Adult Children and a proud Grandma of 2 grandsons and 2 granddaughters!
She holds both a Bachelors and Masters in Education and has a lifetime teaching certificate at the secondary level in the state of Texas. Linda has has enjoyed teaching for the past 30+ years both in the fields of Art and Mathematics in both public, private and homeschooling communities.
After teaching several years in the Plano area, first in Jr. High and then settling in to teaching Art at the high school level, a new job for her husband brought her to the Austin area. The dream of all things clay moved to the background with the new focus on raising her growing family.
Years of school activities and advancing careers, a family of 6 keeps everyone very busy. Personal dreams may be moved the the back burner and seem to exist in the "if only" unspoken thoughts of a focused busy Mom.
When the youngest, her daughter, began high school, the dream of Jubilee Pottery began to rise to the surface. Now with 3 sons and a daughter grown, some married and the last finishing college and moving forward with their lives, the dream awoke and became a spoken prayer!
"In 2016 I was given the promise that this would be my year of Jubilee, little did I know what God was about to do in my life! My 16 X 22 foot dream of a small studio on my home property was erased by a Loving God."
"As always, HIS plan was bigger and better. In February of 2019, 3 years and 1 month after the promise of my Year of Jubilee, My husband and I, opened the doors of Jublilee Pottery Studio in Liberty Hill, Tx. A 2400 square foot building with 9 wheels and 3 kilns ! "
Let Linda share her Love of Clay with you and embark on your own creative mud journey!
